Good point too. I intensely dislike the Instagram look but I don’t have a problem with hair dye or plastic surgery or Botox. Personal choice and all that.
It’s the fact that it makes women look like mannequins. Very Stepford or factory floor vibe. It’s disgusting. Who wants to look like a blow up doll?
But I find a lot of hypocrisy in women who dye their hair or wear makeup criticizing other women for their choice to get surgery. In the end, it’s all degrees of the same thing. Altering one’s looks to be more pleasing to men based on internalized pressure because how we look is our currency in society.
We can continue to shred and criticize each other or we can change our currency.
