Good luck.

The I Ching sounds a lot like casting runes. I find those extremely helpful.

I think these things work because they get you out of your own head in a way and force a different frame of mind. They don't allow for habitual thinking patterns to override all your though processes.

And yet, at the same time they focus you in a way that another part of your subconscious comes through, the part that's been quietly collecting information in the background.

There be a mental clarity game that was popular amongst teenage girls to help them make decisions when they were struggling making one. The idea is that you already know what you want or need to do, you're just overwhelmed with what everyone else thinks or whatever.

It's called red or blue. Here's how it goes. You play it with a trusted friend. You tell them your problem and your choices. Then they start firing one or the other basic preference questions at you rapidly. You don't think. You just answer.

Red or blue?
Coke or Pepsi?
Skirt or Pants?
Tank or bikini?
Blush or shadow?
English or History?
Pen or keyboard?
Read or TV?
Spongebob or Scooby?
Cat or Dog?

You get the idea.

They're looking for you to get comfortable answering and signs that you've suspended front brain thinking. Then they ask your problem question. More than likely, you'll blurt your answer out. You'll also have clarity in that moment about need or want and whether you need to go with your heart or your head.
