Frankly, although I appreciate the effort and the consideration and I recognize that it comes from after listening to women, you really can't.

John Henry, there's not a week that goes by that my bus route is not stopped because of some guy xoming unglued and having a meltdown. Not a week. The guy starts some shit with some other guy or some woman just minding her business, or starts screaming at someone, usually the driver (especially if the driver is a black woman).

Not a week.

He's usually high/drunk or mentally ill or both. Sometimes there are threats of murder, etc.

And every time, right up until the point he blows his stack, he's observably non-threatening. Just a guy, sitting on a bus, going about his day. And then he's not.

You can't tell.
