You could whip out a dictionary and look up the word so you'll know what it actually means instead of just what it means to you.

You could listen to what she has to say and try to see beyond your own over inflated ego.

I know you won't which is too bad because you'd learn something pretty important. But that's what you could do, if you were serious about communicating.
