Fairly decent article of this type. Gotta say, I’m surprised. Two minor points I’d like to hit.

1. As a woman, I’ve never in my life paid that much attention to a man’s shoes. If I see a man in scuffed up shoes I’m more likely to assume he’s wearing them for a reason, like his dog ate his good loafers or he’s going to be doing something where he doesn’t want to ruin his good shoes. So unless that’s all he ever wears it’s not that much of an issue really. You points about grooming and styling for confidence —spot on.

2. The bit about "the gym". I’ve only ever known a very small number of women who objectify men’s bodies. Body types don’t really matter at all. It gets back down to confidence and health ultimately. What the Scots would say hale and hearty. It doesn’t matter if you achieve that health in the gym or by spending time outdoors or by playing sports, or even being a yoga guru. If a woman finds a man she considers to be a keeper, she wants him around for a long while. So pursue physical health, not aesthetics. For sure, aesthetics will follow health to a large degree but the goal and the focus is and should be on the health, not the looks.
