Except that overturning Roe is now a new precedent. Roe was never a law, it was a judicial ruling disallowing certain laws to be passed and negating ones that existed, in this case abortion bans.

So, now Overturning Roe gives a new precedent. The right for states to compel blood and organ donation against people's will. Sooner or later it will be tried, probably harvesting organs from the deceased first.

All people should be both outraged and terrified. This isn't just a women's issue. You either have the rights to your own body or you do not.

The Supreme Court's written opinion on this is the legal equivalent to spaghetti code, as will tend to happen when a pack or rogue partisan hacks are shredding your rights. They make a mess of a lot of stuff.

Once that next case hits this can only go one of two ways. Either no one has bodily autonomy with all that inevitable fallout or women are disenfranchised of citizenship with all that inevitable fallout.

Either way, it's not going to be pretty. That's why I agree that Dobbs is the 21st century equivalent to the Dredd Scott decision.
