Excellent points. We've criminalized youth. In a very real sense, it's like they're kept under a form of martial law. There's nowhere for them to go and hang out without adults intruding.

There's reasons for that, but the solution has caused and is causing further problems.

Another thing. Teens aren't getting enough of the right kind of alone time. You're not going to be very effective or attractive to a potential partner if you don't know who you are. How can you learn who you are during those teen years if you never get any quiet time or quiet space to work all that out?
