Excellent point. The Vikings of Greenland chapter was my favorite out of Collapse as well.

The Easter Islanders is a good one to learn from as well. Their addiction to making statues is comparable in a lot of ways to our addiction to fossil fuels. They just couldn't stop, even as the loss of trees was drying up their island around them.
