Exactly, when people are on a self destructive path, you have to be careful.

Like a drowning person who's much bigger than you, they'll take you down with them if you get too close and you don't know what you're doing.

Also, they'll have to be monitored to keep them from doing whatever it is they're doing to self harm (the options are endless). As long as you're having to monitor them to keep them alive or in relatively good condition, you're not getting to live your life.

That shouldn't be forced on anyone, especially when as a society, we've already decided that we're not willing to invest in things that keep people balanced when there's money to be made. We're okay with a large degree of collateral damage so long as our tax returns show a few more pennies.

This is who we are. This is consistently how we vote. Our priority is making money and a good life for everyone but ourselves, someone who deserves it more.

So let all that trickle up too.
