Exactly. In the end, I don’t trust enough people within my society to make the hard choices necessary to prevent massive death and collapse.

Much as I wish it were otherwise, because when I think of all the good things within our society (there is good and bad within all societies) that are going to be lost plus all the things in the natural world were going to take down with us, I want to weep.
