Even today in 2023, that's more prevalent of a belief than you would think. It explains a big part of rape culture too. Think about it. If women can't enjoy sex, then you're not stealing from them (like their humanity) by being selfish and self absorbed with your sexual attentions. Your whole goal becomes getting them to let you do sex to them. Nothing else. Why bother? They're not capable of more. And it's so u fair that they get to be the gatekeepers of something you need as much as sex, right?
