Does that include all the people in Florida or are you ready and willing to make room for them in the other states? How about your state?
And what about the wildlife? There are several species that only live in Florida or are reliant on Florida ecosystems for their habitat. Shipping them off to Spain too?
Have you thought about the fact that not having that land mass there won't make the problems of increasingly powerful hurricanes evaporate? If and when Florida disappears, those storms don't go with it. They'll just continue barrelling across the gulf, gaining even more energy, power, and speed and then slam into the States bordering the gulf, as well as Mexico on occasion. You gonna cut them all off and let them float to Spain too?
Florida is more than far right politics and whacked out wanna be demagogues. It's people, millions of living things, precious precious ecosystems, history, beauty, and culture.
It's part of America. Florida will be inevitably lost, but that's a sadness. No red blooded real American will ever celebrate the loss of Florida any more than any red blooded real American would whoop and crow with glee over the fires devastating California or what Sandy did to New York.
No real American would find joy in other Americans suffering tragedy because you don't like the political party their state voted for.
Criticize the politics all you want. It's fair game and Lord knows American politics is completely unhinged. But keep your anger focused where it belongs and blame the right people, not a whole demographic.
There are liberals in Florida too. I was one, when I lived there. They don't deserve the kind of contempt you're dishing out.
You're entitled to your opinion, of coarse. But you'd already left this sentiment under the main thread. When you repeat yourself under my comment just to get more play, I reserve the right to point out that your opinion is the sort of yammering nonsense one expects from the ill bred, the uneducated, and the immature.
Lots of people have opinions they should keep to themselves. You might want to consider moving yours to the appropriate mental file.
Given what little response your opinion got under the main thread when I saw it, it's clear no one really wants to hear your opinion about Florida. It's not helpful and it doesn't add anything good to the conversation.
