Disagree. There was enough there in her comment to imply a valuation of "destinies" as Elle Beau laid out.

Further, its kind of Spartan thinking, don't you think? Spartan men didn't belong to their family, they belonged to society. Consequently, they lives separate from the rest of civilization until they were past warrior age. They lived in barracks. They were taken from their families at 7 years old for training. Many didn't survive.

So if you adhere to this ridiculous notion of men's domestic uselessness, are you suggesting marriage should be eliminated or that they should be removed from homes and into barracks to fight and scrape against each other for sustenance? Maybe you believe they should be denied property rights until they've put in their time for "their greater destiny".

People who support patriarchy want to make serfs of all of us. It's exploitative, it can't be anything less. Think it through.
