Disagree. Their problem is not that they are inable to aspire, but the fact that they do. They 'know' they can't win, but they want to.

Rather than refusing to play a rigged game and looking for another way to do things.

That's the collapse. They're the kid standing outside the candy store window in the cold, rather than showing the good sense to put childishness behind and walk next door to the warm and inviting meat pie shop giving out samplers.

You look at men doing with themselves well today, they chose option 2. And, they are doing very well, psychologically speaking. They may not be"successful" by capitalist metrics, but we're all agreed those metrics are not sustainable, psychologically healthy, or progressive anyway so who the hell xares if you measure up to bad standards?
