Dang. I just got in to work this morning and there's a email from my manager, left late last night. She's not coming to today because her dad is in the hospital with Covid and he wasn't expected to make it through the night.

As I recall, he's around 60 which is not that old. Still middle aged. And I've seen pictures and spoken to him briefly on the phone a few times. He's fit and healthy. They're an active, outdoors loving family.

Damn. I really liked him. He reminded me of my Dad.
