Christian doesn't mean follower of Christ now, at least not in American churches.

It means follower of Paul. It means agent of empire.

If it had meant follower of Christ in any meaningful sense, there would not be such apathy and avarice amongst the "faithful" and it would not have been so easy to lure them into madness.
