And yes, in Jesus' time those were kept in cave holes near the Nag Hammadi scrolls. Unfortunately, people at the time couldn’t figure out how to spin a pot around them so they’d be protected for the ages and of course, they were too easily found by tomb raiders with metal detectors long before the modern age.
