Bullshit.

First off, society has always looked down on motherhood. In fact, Mothers Day was brought about specifically as an attempt to correct how mothers are not appreciated and taken for granted. It's been over a hundred years since Mothers Day became a federally recognized holiday and over 150 since the first recognition/campaign of it.

So your claim that the diminishment of motherhood is a recent phenomenon is ludicrous.

If motherhood was so amazing....being one would have given women social primacy and major social cred. Ergo, women wouldn't have been looking so hard to flee it through all the means (birth control, financial enfranchisement, careers and education) because there woule have been more social value in having as many babies as possible rather than fewer or none.

If having children is so amazing, then why do so many men bail on it as soon as they can?

How come more men don't advocate for child care an an employment perk if it's so amazing? How come you men never want to be the ones to stay home with that infant?

If having children is so amazing and important, why aren't you men falling all over yourselves to make it a paid career, either through taxes or other means? How many other things of real and true value can you name that are expected to be provided for free?

Exactly. Motherhood is not values because it's never been valued. If it was, government, society, and civilization would look a lot different than they do.

There's nothing new here.
