Bullshit.

First, in that you don't actually need massive amounts of influence or power in order to act.

Nobody's asking the average man to hold back the tide.

You're being asked to be a drop in the bucket. Join other drops in the bucket. Be content to be a drop in the bucket. Hold together until there are enough drops in the bucket to tip the bucket. Get it?

Decenter your egos. For crying out loud.

Its okay to be small. To not be the biggest and the baddest. To not be Captain America.

Sometimes small gets the job done and gets it done better. Small finds the in-between places. Small understands leverage. Small in the right place tips the fulcrums of life.

Secondly, you have more power than you realize. You just squander it on nonsense more often than not. We women wish we had the ease of power you men take for granted. Getting it is still within living memory for a lot of us. And of course, here in the US, it's been lost again. Within a single lifetime.

Good Lord. How much more power do you think you need beyond the ability to act within your own agency without legit fear of punitive or social repurcussuons? You've got all the power in the world. You can "no, I don't want this, it's bad for me, it's bad for everyone" without judgement or censure. And you're used to having that!
