Somehow or other this book wound up on our digital bookshelf from Kindle Unlimited. Neither Urchling nor I can remember exactly how that happened. These are the hazards of internet shopping while half asleep, I suppose.

What’re’ya gonna do?

Read it, of course. Because that’s what addicts do. They consume. Endlessly. Never satisfied. Word addicts are the absolute worst; I speak from experience. That will become important as you read the novel yourself, so don’t forget.

That said, just because I can’t control myself doesn’t mean Urchling has to participate in my addict drama. She’s free-wheelin’ now, after all. Adulting, and all that jazz. But she did anyway. Bless her.

And friends, I gotta tell all of y’all the story of how Urchling and The Southern Book Club’s Guide to Slaying Vampires has led to us starting our own little book club.

There I was, determined to read into this hussy a bit and see if I could figure out how it ended up on our bookshelf and whether or not I wanted to return it to free up some space or let it sit a while. Urchling is ripping through books on China’s history right now as part of a project she’s working on, so space is at a premium. You can only download 10 at a time, you know.
