Before the industrial era, that was true of men too. Families worked site by side on farms and in trades.

Nonetheless, it was industrialization that devalued the work of women. It also creates sex separate work. Men went off to the factory and with men, it's out of sight, out of mind. They forgot the labor that went into running a small farm, gardening and preserving food, making clothes, etc.

You could have just said you never had a girlfriend. No tampons before industrialization. Sure there were, we just made them ourselves. There are and were also other options besides tampons. 😝 So no, dear, lack of industrially created tampons did not keep anyone from leaving the house. Good lord.
