Because there's nothing technological in the works that can be brought to scale, is sustainable, and will get the job done in the time we have left that will address the problem. Nothing. Not nuclear. Not solar. Not wind. Not waves. Nothing.

So....we need time. We need to buy time for that hoped for technological solution. Therefore, the more people who reduce their carbon footprint the better, the less people being born the better, the more people who can leave the economy the better.

Also, industriee are not going to do what needs to be done until what they're doing now becomes unprofitable. The best hope tomget industries to take action is not politics and legislation, but financial incentives. That comes from the bottom up by grassroots response.
