Bears are not inherently vicious,. They are omnivores, not carnivores . The bulk of their diet is actually plant material. The rest is bugs and fish. Except polar bears, of course, who eat mainly seal.

I see your link, but if you look them up separately, bears are recorded as being around 30 mph, racehorses at over 40 mph. Maybe that 30 is an average and larger bears run faster. But also, bears are chargers, they can't keep that pace long. Long enough that a human can't outrun them, but they're not distance runners like horses.
