As well as the cognitive dissonance.

“They got caught [using abortion as birth control] and the easy way out was to abort the child.”

??? (There should be a Spock brow lift emoji.)

“They got caught and the easy way out was to abort the child.” If abortion is their means of birth control, why would they feel morally imperiled to feel like they had gotten caught doing something wrong. Is he suggesting that pregnancy and/or sex is wrong?

“They got caught [reporting a rape?] and the easy way out was to abort the child.” … because they weren’t on birth control for whatever reason and the sex wasn’t their choice? They got caught being the victim of a crime?

I’m not even going to touch on all the reasons beyond “using abortion as a means of birth control" because I’m assuming that’s what the rest of your article is about.

I’m just gonna leave it at the fact that the two statements together are logically incongruous. Or, to put in more every day vernacular, this thinking is wacked out. It’s so wacked out, in fact, that it gave me an my Urchling (teenager) stink face.

Be a dear and tell your friend to knock it off. She’s still trying to iron out her stink face. It’s been nearly 10 minutes. Jupiter (the dog) is concerned.

I’m going to go read the rest of your article and check the mirror.
