As a formerly pregnant woman who had some unexpected drama in the delivery room and was in labor for 54 hours, I can tell you it not. It’s reality.
You need to educate yourself.
Modern medicine, particularly medical hygiene and emergency procedures have done for childbirth what seatbelts have done for automotive passengers. Substantially reduced the risk. But people are still injured and can still die in car accidents.
And women, pregnant Transmen and Intersex can still die in childbirth or from complications of pregnancy and childbirth.
Something like 40% of pregnancies face some kind of complication, 8% of which are considered high risk and will endanger the mother and the fetus.
That’s just under 1 in 10. That’s not uncommon, rate, or fear porn. That is reality.
You should read What To expect When You’re Expecting. It details a lot of the things that can go wrong, what the treatment is, what signs and symptoms to look for, what you can do (if you can), etc.
