As a feminist, obviously I can't stand the guy. He screams 'clown'. Back in the day, I never liked Steven Segal either. They're kinda cut from the same cloth as far as the "masculinity" they project.
And for me, it comes down to one simple question about their relevance. And I thought about this as a child, in regards to Steven Segal.
As a child, would you want your dad to be like that, in your home, in your life, interacting that way with all the people in your life?
The answer there is NO! If you've got a brain in your head, the answer is no.
And that tells you all you need to know about that style of 'masculinity'. Lots of things in life are entertaining at times to fantasize about, but everything has a price and the price here is quite profound.
