If you opt out of the diaper changing, baby talk, being an infant jungle gym, smiles and cuddles phase because it's not "manly" then you're also opting out of establishing a telatio ship with your kids, early on.

To be a provider means you provide what they need when they need it. Not what gives you status or street cred amongst your peers. It's not about your buddies or your ego. It's about your children and what they need to thrive.

Further, you don't get that time back. Your absence will echo through all the years they're in your life, even if you do spend more time with them when they're older.
