Ah. But that's a foregone conclusion again. One that discounts a few things.
One. You don't lose the capability to learn or get an education at adulthood. Anyone who has been deprived of a decent education at school has the opportunity to educate themselves. Looking at cat videos instead of educational clips is a choice. Playing video games instead of reading a book is a choice.
Two. Young people are fleeing the church in droves. The majority of the people you see with Exvangelicals and ExCatholic tags mention religious schools so it seems there's a definite correlation between religious schools and religious trauma. There's every indication promoting MAGA ideologies as education is backfiring.
Three. The world is more connected now. It's impossible to keep that kind of stuff contained and cults depend on containment. Older people may be more vulnerable to the effects of social media propaganda than young people who grew up with it are. Young people are just naturally far more savvy about it on average. They understand and see the manipulations a lot better and can and do teach each other. I'm not saying they're immune to it; far from it. It's clear there are still many, particularly certain young men, who are being radicalized very easily. But I have to wonder if the school system isnt part of that. End that and the constant competition that comes with it, and maybe that radicalization happens a lot less.
Could it increase MAGA? Sure, but I don't think it's the foregone conclusion they think it is to be pushing to end public education.
The rest of us don't have to create their conclusions for them. We might not can stop them from gaining their goals, but we don't have to hand their desires results to them in a silver platter either, you know what I mean?
Same thing with overturning Roe. Instead of forcing women back I to domestic servitude and providing a supply of domestic babies to buy (adopt) for the wealthy, the result of that could be the birth rate tanking to near zero for a few years. And when they freak out it's just a firm, "well, you should have codified Roe into National law decades ago and ratified the ERA when you had the chance should you? I don't want to have any babies. Half of them will be girls. They'll be second class citizens, like me. Why would I wish that on my child?'
