Agree with you about masculine ideals vs reality of life as a man being very out of touch with reality. It's the same for women.
We're all being bombarded with those ideals now though, and it's making us question ourselves in ways that we'd never think about were we not being bombarded with marketing and media bullshit 24/7 in the way we have been.
Also, I hope you understand my point is that we need to change as a species. Women are human beings too, so that means we need to change as well.
We're talking about changing that grip hold those ideals have on us. They're making all of us miserable, believe we're not good enough as we are, and they're a distraction from what we need to be focusing on as a species.
It's like were self absorbed little birds sitting on a beach preening in front of a tidal wave barrelling toward us instead of flying to safety.
It's insane.
The only difference is, as I said, women have been here for a lot longer. So we're changing, a lot of us. But it's not universal amongst women, and it's not a done deal. It's still in process, but incomplete and the drivers of the dynamic have not been neutralized. We're changing, not changed.
There's also no indication that will hold if the dynamic drivers shift, amp it up, reinstantiate, become stronger, etc.
But I do believe men could learn from the women trailblazers.
Men are beginning to be objectified in a similar way that women have been for centuries and they are cracking under the strain of it.
