A mother wound or a father wound?

Moms always get blamed, but who’s he really mad at? When fathers bail, mothers become a convenient place to put that anger; “he left because of her" lines of thinking.

I’ve seen this a lot. Last time said father had taken the mother out into the woods, beat her, strangled her, and left her for dead. He must have thought he killed her this time because he took everything of value and ran before she turned up missing, leaving his son in his crib.

I think her only real mistake was trying to protect her son from the truth and reality so he could keep his hero worship of someone who never fucking deserved it in the first place.
